Hey Tyler, some punk kids don’t like your mom.
Because everyone knows you can trust high school kids to be objective when “rating” teachers, right?

Everyone’s been getting those Creative Commons licenses lately. Well, Gord, Ian, and Tyler so far that I know of. Gord and Ian I can see; Gord makes and takes images, and I and writes articles. I’m a little unsure about Tyler, which makes me think there’s more to CC than what I can tell. When Gord and Ian got theirs, I thought it was cool, but something I wouldn’t need for my Blog, since all I do is write stuff about my life, and if there’s someone out there trying to use my blog entries to make money, they’re either crazy or need it more than I do.
Then Tyler got one, and now I’m not so sure. He’s “just” got a blog like me, and frankly the coolest things on my blog are things not even made by me (like the “moon phase” thingy). I don’t even have a proper image for my header banner. And when I do, I’ll probably just pay someone on DeviantArt $20 to make one for me (which is why I don’t have one yet – I don’t have $20 to “waste” on something as non-essential as a blog image)
Anyway, the point of this post is “what am I missing” about a CC License? I mean, it’s free, so it’s not like it would be a big deal for me to get one, but I’m not sure I’d even “need” one.
I got my hair cut this weekend. I went from a single-lengh a couple inches below the shoulders to a multi-layered cut a few inches above the shoulders. The longest layer just reaches my collar. I like it. ^_^ Easy to take care of, and way nicer looking than my old hair that was sort of just hanging there like a drowned rat. I guess. I’ve never seen a hanging drowned rat, so I can’t be sure.
In related news, some random girl in my bottany class on Monday noticed and said she liked my new haircut. That made my day, especially since I don’t have any clue who she is, and she probably don’t know my name either. ^_^
I was in Kincardine this weekend because my mom trated me to a full-body massage with her gift certificate to V-Spa (the reeeeeealy nice new-ish spa in Kincardine). Heavenly. Just heavenly. ^_________^
I managed to score a terrific deal from a webdesign company to redo both my layout and my osc code. JustTwoGirls.com. Hurrah for the barter system! More info on that later, though if anyone has any good suggestions for “inspiration” I’d love to hear it. ^_^ I’m supposed to come up with something to “inspire” the site, like a postcard, a pillowcase, a song, a colour, etc, or else pretty much give them small suggestions and free reign over the initial design. I’ll probably end up just doing that, though, since I can’t think of anything specific I want my site to resemble, just that I’d like it to be “spunky” and “cute” and “fresh”, that sort of thing.
I’m also starting to network with other DIY/Indie/craft sites, which is always good. ^_^ Gets my link out there for search engines, as well as people who are already in the market for handmade goods.
Since I’m going to be phasing out my “character” hats soon, I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with my main menu at the site. Right now there’s 3 menu options:
1. Critter Hats
2. Character Hats
——————-
3. View all Products
If I get rid of the character hats (except the Lain Cyberia one, since it’s not based on a character, but a hat that a character is wearing in only one image), I’ll only have one “real” menu option, and essentially it would contain the same things as the Critter hats link would, though the VAP link just gives a tabled list of products, the actual Critter category shows images of the hats.
It seems sort of silly to only have one category, but it seems sillier to make every single hat a “subcategory”, so that the menu would read something along the lines of:
Critter Hats
Kitties
Bunny
Bear
Panda
(etc)
—————
View All Products
I guess it could be good to link to every products from the main page, it just seems dumb for each “subcategory” to have only one products in it (well, 3 in the case of “Kitty”, but still).

Edited to fix broken link. The “happy new year” stuff wasn’t in the original, but this one shouldn’t be taken down.

I think “Mything Lynx” would be a cool name for something. I should use it someday. I don’t know what for, but for something.
If anyone’s interested in linking to kittycaps, I’ve got some new banners up on my new links page. they’re under the “Link to Me” section.
I spent all evening making the banners, and I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out.

Ok, I don’t know about the rest of you, but I wear underwear to cover my ass, not to not cover it at all.
