Wiarton Willie apparently disagrees with Phil today.
Phil saw his shadow, and Willie didn’t.

Willie even goes so far as to write a poem about it:

SPRING IS HERE!!!!!
Willie’s shadow did not appear
Which means springtime is almost here
The time of year when flowers grow
When we finally see the end of snow

Put away your shovel, mitts and hat
Bring out the barbeque, ball and bat
Plant your bulbs and wash the car
Stay out late and count the stars

Get your umbrella and rain boots ready
Fly a kite. Hold it nice and steady
Take a walk along the shore
Don’t forget your springtime chores

And the next time you’re in town
Don’t forget to tour around
And thank our little groundhog friend
For bringing winter to an end.

He’s come a long way from his crime-ridden youth.
